1 – Traveller Child Health Awareness Worker

 
We are currently recruiting for an exciting new project in collaboration with the HSE Traveller Health Unit, called Traveller Brighter Beginnings. This is a part-time, peer-led role for a Traveller Child Health Awareness Worker.

2 – Receptionist / Information Officer

Local Area Employment Service (LAES) is one of a number of national, community and local development programmes delivered by Wexford Local Development on behalf of the Government, creating opportunities that promote equality and inclusion and improve quality of life for people and communities. Our work is informed by our organisational values of Respect, Equality, Leadership, Inclusion and Integrity.

We have an exciting opportunity to work with us as a full-time Receptionist/Information Officer in our Gorey office with the LAES. The LAES provides one-to-one employment guidance and support to individuals who are long-term unemployed. The service operates under contract for the Department of Social Protection. We are looking for an experienced, resourceful, and empathetic person, with excellent IT and interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate for the position of LAES Receptionist/Information Officer will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a receptionist and/or administration role.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain high standards of customer service and client confidentiality.
  • A high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint, be tech savvy and comfortable using caseload management systems.
  • A positive, flexible, and professional approach to work and be attentive to detail.
  • Experience of working in the community/voluntary sector and with vulnerable adults
  • Knowledge of the needs of jobseekers, unemployment issues and services available.
  • Access to transport and a full clean driving licence is desirable, but not essential.

The position is being offered on a full-time basis 35 hours per week and will be subject to continued funding. The position is based in WLD’s offices, Coach Road, Gorey, Co. Wexford.
