A group of WLD healthcare clients took part in this training course in Order of Malta Training HQ, Wexford, on Tuesday, December 12th.
The comprehensive and practically – based training was developed by the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) as a national standard to ensure that those who suffer cardiac arrest in the community are given the best possible chance of survival.
Wexford Local Development participants on the training learned the basic techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), how to use an AED and the action to take in the event of choking for adults and children.
The training was delivered by Dylan O’Connor, an Order of Malta Training Services Instructor registered with the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC).
Participants found the course to be very worthwhile, practical and also fun and enjoyable. It is hoped that Wexford Local development will be in a position to offer this training again to clients in the future.
