People from all over Wexford who have successfully taken part in training with Wexford Local Development will be attending a series of Awards Evening around the county in the next few weeks.
The training courses, which are funded under SICAP (Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme) are QQI accredited and were mostly in the area of healthcare. People taking part have upskilled themselves with a view to getting work in the area of healthcare and many are now employed in that sector, while others are continuing on with their studies.
Wexford Local Development offers a range of training and lifelong learning programmes which can help people to move closer to employment and to reconnect them with their potential, even if they have left the education system at a young age, or have not engaged in formal learning for many years.
The events promise to be a celebration of the achievement of all the learners receiving their certificates and an opportunity for people to find out more about what WLD can offer them in their local area.
Certificates will be presented to the successful participants by the Chairpersons of each Municipal District and speakers on the night will include WLD chairperson Michael Wall.
All of the events run from 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm
