Wexford Local Development is the lead organisation in the East Region for the Local Development Companies (LDC) Enterprise Awards 2016.
This National Enterprise Awards are being organised by the Irish Local Development Network (ILDN) which is the representative body of the Local Development Companies Nationally.
This is a new National Award which is being established to recognise people who have successfully set up their business and have grown the business and demonstrated potential for further growth.
The businesses shortlisted under the awards have been supported by Wexford Local Development under the Back to Work Enterprise Allowance Scheme (BTWEA) or Short Term Enterprise Allowance (STEA) which means that all were previously long term unemployed. These schemes are funded by the Department of Social Protection (DSP).
This is a brand new initiative in 2016 and one which seeks to recognise the success that these individuals have achieved both on a personal level and also to recognise the contribution that these micro enterprises make to our local economy.
Wexford Local Development will be hosting an East Region Local Development Company
Enterprise Awards 2016 on Monday, 11th July 2016 at 6pm sharp in The Seamus Rafter Suite, Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorthy.
In addition to networking opportunities, the awards event will showcase the products and services offered by the businesses that have been shortlisted for the award and Irish TV will be present to televise the event.

Each of the 3 finalists will receive a prize of €1,000.00 each. In addition a professional videography will be provided to the 3 finalists to showcase market and promote their business on social media. This videography will also be on display during the night of the National Awards Ceremony.
The overall winner of the National Local Development Enterprise Award announced on
15th September 2016 and will receive €3,000.00, the runner up will receive €2,000.00 and the business in third place will receive €1,000.00.
