Wexford Local Development are delighted to announce the allocation of €402,840 towards the costs of developing outdoor social & recreational spaces and biodiversity projects.  12 community groups successfully completed the application and evaluation process to be awarded funding under the most recent LEADER Programme funding call.

On making the announcement Michael Wall, Chairperson of Wexford Local Development & Wexford’s Local Action Group said “Each community group has worked hard to evidence the need for their proposed project, to show their own capability as a group to oversee each stage of the project and manage it into the future.  I congratulate each community group on their funding award and the continuing work they do to develop and sustain villages and facilities throughout our county.”

Karen Codd of Rathnure Community Development confirmed their committee’s delight at being awarded €100,958 to develop an amenity & reflective garden in the centre of the village “This garden will serve all members of our community, young to old.  Community members have supported fundraising, will help choose planting and will have the facility free to use into the future.  This will be our first shared outdoor community space in the village and everyone is very excited to see the garden completed later in 2025”.
