Community buildings and energy upgrades projects
We are now open to expressions of interest (EOI) from community groups for grants to support the upgrade, refurbishment and fit-out of community centres and installation of new community modular buildings.  Proposals can include complimentary actions which help to reduce the carbon footprint of the community buildings.

Minimum grant available:	€5,000
Maximum grant available:	€200,000 (there is no guarantee of allocation of maximum grant to any one group)
Grant aid rates:	* Upgrade/renovation/fitout of community centres, up to 75%
	* Installation of new community modular building, up to 75%
	* Feasibility studies up to 90%
	* Complimentary actions which help reduce the carbon footprint of the community building, up to 75%
Total funding available:  €1,155,000 under the following themes:
Theme 2: Rural Infrastructure & Social Inclusion for the upgrade, refurbishment and fit-out of existing buildings and installation of modular buildings, and
Theme 3: Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation for complimentary actions through capital and feasibility studies that reduce the carbon footprint of community buildings and/or of the wider community, facilitating climate change mitigation
Examples of eligible projects:	– Upgrade works, refurnishment works and fit-out of community centres
	– Installation of new modular buildings, e.g. community sheds
	– Complimentary projects that reduce the carbon footprint of community the building
Examples of ineligible projects:	– Sports facilities and equipment
	– Membership only facilities and equipment

 

Important note for applicants – LEADER application timelines:
Stage 1:	Expression of interest,  2 weeks
Stage 2:	Only eligible projects/applicants will be invited to this stage and will be given the following timelines:
	– Full application for projects equal to or under €50,000 (total costs incl. VAT), 2.5 months approx.
	– Full application for projects equal to or over €50,001 (total costs incl. VAT),  5 months approx.
Stage 3:	Audit and assessment, 2.5 months approx.
Stage 4:	Approval and contact awards, 1.5 months approx.
