Wexford Local Development would like to invite applications for the following two positions.


1 – Client Support Officer- Enniscorthy District

(Full Time- Fixed term contract for 12 months)

Wexford Local Development (WLD) is a community-based organisation working for Co. Wexford. Our work is informed by our organisational values of Respect, Equality, Leadership, Inclusion and Integrity.

We now have an exciting opportunity to work with us as a full time Client Support Officer on the SICAP (Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme). SICAP is one of several national programmes delivered at local level by WLD on behalf of local and national Government to create opportunities that promote equality and inclusion and improve quality of life for people and communities.

Client Support Officers work as part of a wider SICAP team and work collaboratively with communities and individuals across Co. Wexford who have been marginalised or denied full inclusion in Irish society. We are looking for an experienced, resourceful, and empathetic person, with excellent interpersonal and team skills, who is passionate about supporting people to reach their full potential and is energised about making a positive difference in a person’s life.
The successful applicant will work as part of our Client Support team and will have:

  • A recognised 3rd level qualification (Level 7 NFQ or higher) or equivalent relevant training or professional experience, in a discipline appropriate to the role.
  • Direct experience of working one to one with marginalised individuals.
  • Experience of working using community development approaches.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with agencies and services.
  • Excellent Communication, Interpersonal and IT skills.
  • Access to transport and a full clean driving licence as travelling and outreach work will be an essential part of the job

The position is being offered on a full-time basis 35 hours per week. The salary for this position will be within the range of €37,426 to €39,226 subject to experience. The position will be based in WLD’s office in Enniscorthy, but flexibility will be required to work from other WLD offices if needed.

2 – Receptionist/Information Officer – New Ross

Wexford Local Development (WLD) is a community-based organisation. We deliver a range of interlinked programmes, including the Local Area Employment Service, on behalf of local and national Government to address the needs of individuals and communities across the life cycle within County Wexford. We are committed to making a positive impact by promoting employment, inclusion, supporting enterprise and addressing inequality. We have an exciting opportunity to work with us as a full-time Receptionist/Information Officer in our New Ross office with the Local Area Employment Service (LAES).  The LAES provides one-to-one employment guidance and support to individuals who are long-term unemployed.  The service operates under contract for the Department of Social Protection. We are looking for an experienced, resourceful, and empathetic person, with excellent IT and interpersonal skills. 

The ideal candidate for the position of LAES Receptionist/Information Officer will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a receptionist and/or administration role.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain high standards of customer service and client confidentiality.
  • A high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint, be tech savvy and comfortable using caseload management systems.
  • A positive, flexible, and professional approach to work and be attentive to detail.
  • Experience of working in the community/voluntary sector and with vulnerable adults.
  • Knowledge of the needs of jobseekers, unemployment issues and services available.
  • Access to transport and a full clean driving licence is desirable, but not essential.

The position is being offered on a full-time basis 35 hours per week and will be subject to continued funding.  The position is based in WLD’s offices, Priory Quay, New Ross, Co. Wexford
