About the Service
The new Traveller and Roma Local Employment Initiative will provide practical, accessible and culturally appropriate supports to Travellers and Roma who wish to progress towards employment, further education, training or self-employment support.
About the Role
The Job Coach will develop and implement a range of person centred supports for participants of this local employment initiative. The role will involve providing one to one employment guidance and support to Travellers and Roma to identify their skills, interests and goals; develop personal progression plans; building links with employers and training providers; and supporting inclusive recruitment, workplace participation and sustained employment outcomes.
The TRLEI aims to ensure that individuals from the Traveller and Roma communities are fully supported to find and maintain employment and organisations who employ programme participants will be supported to ensure that their employment is successful. The Job Coach will provide a range of person centred supports to Travellers and Roma over 18 years to develop appropriate pathways that move them closer to opportunities to gain employment and will provide support to maintain their employment.
We are looking for a highly organised, experienced, resourceful person, with excellent interpersonal skills, who has direct experience in providing employment, training, and other employment related supports to marginalised groups. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting people to reach their full potential.

Essential Requirements
- Demonstrate a proven interest in the work of WLD, together with min 2 years’ of direct experience of working with marginalised individuals on a one-to-one basis in a vocational, training, educational or job placement setting.
- On or before 31 January 2025 have achieved at least Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent relevant training or professional experience, in a discipline appropriate to the role.
- Proven knowledge of the policy context concerning social justice and equality issues as it pertains to employment issues for the Traveller and Roma communities
- Experience of working using community development approaches.
- Proven knowledge of the barriers that prevent full inclusion in society for Travellers and Roma.
- Full clean driving licence and access to transport as outreach on a county wide basis will be part of the role.
- Proven experience of working collaboratively as part of a team, as well as the ability to be self-organised & to work to deadlines
What we offer
Salary will be commensurate with experience and will be within the range of €39,226-€42,777.
- Remote/hybrid working requests will be considered after probation period.

- Location: Wexford Local Development offices Enniscorthy
- Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week). Hours of work- Monday to Friday from 9.00a.m to 5.00p.m. (Flexibility is required as work may be required out of these hours) WLD operates a time in lieu policy for time worked up.
- Contract: Initial 4-month period September to December 2026. Will be continued subject to government funding.
