Community Training for Community Groups & Young People

WLD is offering free project management training to community centre committees and young people from their area.  The training will help participants work together on adding more user friendly spaces for young people in our county’s community centres.  In 2025, WLD will open to applications for capital funding for young people’s projects and this training will prepare you to apply.

What this training is aiming to do:

A bit more information about the project

The LEADER Programme funds community groups to develop facilities in county Wexford.  We are working to bring together young people and village committees from villages or areas of towns where there are no dedicated spaces for young people (outside of sports).  Villages selected will get to participate in free project management training.  Young people and committee members will work together on a plan to introduce young people’s spaces and will be supported to complete and submit funding applications to the LEADER programme in 2025.

About the training programme

Participants will be guided through the process of identifying, planning and realising community projects.  This will include how to:

  • identify the need
  • engage the community
  • plan the project
  • implement
  • evaluate
  • sustain

The training will be delivered through a combination of face-to-face and online sessions.  Location will be confirmed once all young people & their corresponding village/community centre committees have been identified.
