Templeshannon Photovoice Research Launched

On Thursday, 17th of September 2026, the Templeshannon Photovoice research report ‘The Ground We Carry – Strength, Memory and Belonging in Templeshannon’ was launched with an exhibition and community gathering in Templeshannon Community Centre. The research is available to view and download in PDF below.

The CEO of Wexford Local Development, Brian Kehoe spoke about the project which has been ongoing since January, “On behalf of Wexford Local Development (WLD) we are delighted to present this report which brings together the findings of research into what really matters to the community in Templeshannon, Enniscorthy. We would like to thank Dr. Maria Quinlan for the rigorous way in which she undertook this research, in particular the way in which she led the training with both WLD staff and members of the community, to amplify the voice of those living and working within the community through the Photovoice methodology”. Brian also went on to thank the residents, community groups and service providers who gave of their time and energy in participating in this research and who so genuinely expressed their experience of living and working in Templeshannon.

The findings from the research documented in this report presents the voice of the community, their pride in their community, and their struggles. It is important that these views are aired and acknowledged so that we can fully understand the experience and perspectives of the residents of Templeshannon.

In publishing this report, WLD aims to utilise its findings to plan actions and to advocate with the community for increased services, facilities and supports in the area.
